                             science-fiction Clones: Google photo..
My Final Conclusion based on taking this 'Cluster' " Expect the Unexpected- Our Neighbors in the Year 3000. I'm just being a bit Pessimistic perhaps, the world wold look like this soon".

To the new students that would be taking ' English 103' I would tell them to actually take a 'cluster' similar to this one. I had the best experience in this cluster mainly because i learned plenty of things that is actually really important for this era. However, for those students that actually like getting things done earl- I advice to attend to the 'English Center' or tutoring so that they can help you with any paper.  I actually visited the 'Writing Center' a few times, and they really helped in gathering information on my research paper.

My dear Classmates: It was my pleasure to be in class with you all. Hopefully to see you some of you in my other classes, Gob bless & I now that all of you will pass all the classes we took together. You're all super clever.

Analyzing the Play written by Caryl Churchill
I really liked this play because the ' scientific;' perceptive was mentioned, and also human emotions on each of the characters.

The father of the sons ‘Salter’ didn't realize the scientist made twenty clones instead of one, and so ‘Salter’ is faced with having to tell one of his sons that he is not the original, and which is the son that lived with him his whole entire life. Since, ‘Salter’ had to tell the other the bad news,  of course they all responded differently. In fact, ‘Salter’ had one of his sons cloned is explained with a couple of different  reasons. For instance, in  this line we see that the author insist the readers to analyze whether; the father thought of this experiment before going through the cloning procedures e.g. this shows that the son reacts in a selflessness way. Example, B2: says, “because there's this person who's identical to me”- Salter replies- “he's not very like but very something terrible which is exactly the same genetic person”-  B2 then mentions “and I don't like it” ( Churchill 176). This is a controversial, and contracting line, not only  to ’Salter’s’, but ‘B2’ feels as if he has another person that is just like him in the world, but that that he’s not comfortable with that idea. Perhaps the father should’ve thought of this problem with ’cloning’- meaning that soon or later the one of his sons would not adaptable with having someone in the world exactly  as him. Moreover, the only son who has his own name, and the only character with a first and last name, appears at the end of the play. He has a life, and feels comfortable in himself, but ‘Salter’ never feels that ‘Michael’ truly has an identity - the worrying has slipped from the sons to the father, who previously was most concerned with suing the scientist who made more clones than were agreed on. But Michael isn't particularly annoyed: Example, Michael says, “I think it's funny, I think it's delightful-  then  Salter replies: “delightful?”… Michael then mentions:” We've got ninety-nine per cent the same genes as any other person. We've got ninety per cent the same as a chimpanzee. We've got thirty percent the same as a lettuce. Does that cheer you up at all? I love about the lettuce. It makes me feel I belong”  (Churchill 197). In fact, the identity of ‘Michael’ is based more on his experiences instead he adapts to idea that ‘Clones’ don’t have the same emotions. To ‘Salter’, the cloning is always a big deal, though in what way it's a big deal changes over the course of the play. To ‘Michael’, it's an amusing choice about himself, but it doesn't change who he is e.g.  his memories, his family, and his friends. The play ends with the (to Salter horrifying) revelation that Michael likes his life.  In this play Churchill's idea was to leave wide possibilities for tremendous emotion . In fact, I can imagine ways that Salter's slow devastation through the play could end up being complex and moving.

Critical Thinking blog #3

A Number is deeply captivating, and intriguing play because the situation the main character ‘Salter’ dignifies as moral behavior. Years before the play takes place, Salter paid a scientist to clone his son. He didn't realize the scientist made twenty clones instead of one, and so Salter is faced with having to tell one of his sons that he is not the original, and then gets to meet some of the others, each of whom responds quite differently to the news of being cloned. Why Salter had one of his sons cloned is explained with a couple of different, contradictory reasons, and Salter may be lying. In order for the author to show such a contradictory line he mentioned: (b1) ‘the son’ – he says, “You should have killed me it’s my fault” (Churchill 188). - decided to clone, and there would not be dead. In fact,  he’s saying this because from his general viewpoint, Just because they were ‘Clone’s’ doesn’t mean they weren’t humans. Example, the father ‘Salter’ did a big mistake, and of course that was to capture the new technical advances make new humans instead by its natural way. Also, just because the original son of Salter had misunderstanding attitudes of this unmorality behavior he says, that it should not  be admired, rewarded and emulated, while the ‘Salter’ represents the attitudes which should be abhorred, punished and discouraged.

We should appreciate the new technological advances, but not let it get too far! Perhaps our 'Unique' humans won't be the same after we create the medical advances such as, Cloning.

Critical Thinking blog #2

Artificial Intelligence meaning (AI) It's increasingly advancing in time. In fact, the 'robotics' of this era are improving such as, computers, cars etc. Humans are the only type of organism that could make non-living things example, 'man-made' e.g. cars, computers, and even robots. These types of machinery's are developing at the speed of light. For instance, man 'humanity' have made these robots to function the same as humans do. Example, as seen in the 'LIB hour' Prof. Dragan & Prof. Brown showed a film were Japanese robots even had the physical appearance of man. Many humanistic analysis have been approached example, the Nurture-Nature debate of the question that concern everyone 'If robots have similar functions e.g. 'behaviors' would they ever have a mind' meaning would robots ever have mental states?. This question is debated in many ways in a analytical, and reasoning addpatation. However there are many arguments for and against this fact. exmaple, also wether robotics could have emotions just like they have similar behavrios as the human is capable to adapt. In the essay written by David Gelerner Dream-Logic, The Internet and Artifical Thoughthe impliesthe issue of wether 'machines'- such as, robots are able to have a mind. In fact, Galerner states that "Here is an unfortunate truth: today's mainstream ideas about humans and artifical intelligence thought lead nowhere" (Gelernter 202). This author give the idea that 'AI' in machines would never occur meaning that robots would never have mental states- meantal processes simalr to humans. However, Ray Kurzweil wrote an addatable argument to this logical perspective. In  The Singularity is Near Kurzweil has another approcah deabting these circumstances. In fact, he argues that 'AI' refering to robotics; would have a greater capacity, and a greater level of intelligence better than humans. Kurzweil states,"Artifical Intelligence at human levels will necessarily greatly exceed human intelligence for several reasons"( Kurzweil 138). Indeed, he actually mentiones that robots have the capacity of adapting to the world in a easier rate. In these both reading a variety of ideas were showed- in fatc, as humans we have the advantage of choosing any argumenative side. We could either have a hummanitic view- a techo-roamnticism or a argument that robotics would have better knowlege than humans will. Today, people are interacting more and more with computers. If all computers are stopped for a day, complete civilization comes to a halt. This is why many people have a diffrent point of view whn it comes to the debate of 'robotics' having thoughts, and even a complexity of emotions.

'Figure above'- from a film shown during our 'LIB' hour.
Thank you!

Final draft late follow-up

I gave my draft to the professor really early; because i was nervous about my research topic. However, receiving my draft back from the professor i was happy with the response he gave! It was passing, but a HUGE mistake i did, was not CITE of course. Citing its my biggest problem, i really don't know why because i use to do all the time back in high school. After reading my draft for multiple times; i came to the conclusion that it was a perfect research only if it was CITED correctly, and yeah i fixed the mistakes i had on the paper. Hopefully i get the grade i deserve. I made sure that my paper would be done in a professional content and structure. Let's hope for the better grade! good luck classmates with your research papers as well!

"Critical Thinking Blog #5"

I've taken Critical Thinking class during my last semester. In fact, many essays that we read were more based on facts. Also, as a current student of LaGuardia Community College we use many devices everyday. Basically technology such as, using cell phones, cameras, or any other techno- romantic devies are useful. In our English 101 class we have read an article based on "Cloning", and "Artificial Intelligence". The essay "A number" written by: Caryl Churchill is a piece of fictional story of  Human Cloning, and the lives of Fictional characters.

"My Research Paper Status"

My research is composed on the film "The Notebook". Theirs many ideas in referring to Alzheimer's, and I'm still having problems with my thesis. Indeed, i need more evidence on my argument for the whole reasearch. In fact, the film is based on a patient named 'Allie', but i need to more evidence.. I'll keep posting more information relating to my research!

more coming soon..

Sample Research Paper!

Today I learned that for the reaserch paper, the grade would be better if we use cites in the paragraphs. Also, in the research paper we must put a tittle in order to make the reader attracted to our writing.

Sharing a Research Paper Source!

My topic is based on the film "The Notebook". Last summer i was watching this movie, and i came across the topic of 'Alzsheimer'. It was very important for me to learn about this disease. I found an article on JSTOR, suggesting the pro's, and cons of the disease. I can't find the Source, but when i do i'll just post it again!

“Critical Thinking Blog Assignment #1”

Many of us have opinions about technology that can be classified along the spectrum of being a “optimist” or a “pessimist” meaning the categorizations that reflect our general attitude about our technological past, present, and future. In fact, I am more on the side of the pessimists, though not completely so. As for the long term, while I have concerns about people cutting themselves off from real life though technology, when it comes right down to it, there are signs that people see the importance of saving our planet and its resources. Technology has surely provided us with means for improving our lives. Such as, medical technology has improved the length of our lives, people in wealthy nations often have access to cheap electricity and food, and the Internet allows us to communicate with people all over the world. However, all of this belongs to the fulfillment of  technology. As (Kurzweil) argues that through the advances of machines we will begin to have relationships with ‘robots’ and their personalities and use them  as e.g. teachers, and lovers. As a result, the distinction between us  humans, and computers will have become sufficiently blurred that when the machines claim to be conscious, we will believe them.

Oliver Sacks Or What?

For my English 103 class with Professor Dragan; I might write about Oliver Sacks. Personally I believe that oliver Sacks its an amazing and talented Doctor that loves to ac·knowl·edge! people that are diagnosed with 'Unexplanatory' Diseases.. I'm not really sure if I should do my research paper on 'Oliver Sacks' ,but by the looks of it; I really like the Articles on Temple Grandin. She's one of the few people that has been diagnosed with Autism that has won awards and even written books...

Google isn’t making us dumb

In my English (103) Course; We read " Is Google Making Us Stupid". Well in my opinion Google actually help people and even the students in researching and collecting data. Never before I felt so deeply connected to such a main source website. Even though, many people might think that "Google" its brainwashing the internet users it somehow helps individually to maintain data and gather abstract infromation. Therefore in the article "Is Google Making Us Stupid " By: (Nicholas Carr); implies various topics on how the internet damages our lifestyle. As my philosophy Prof. Brown says "The Human Mind is unpredictable" Indeed; How do we know as Humans if everything that occurs in our lives its a dream?
